What Information Do We Collect?
When you visit and use our Website you may provide us with two types of information: personally identifiable information you actively choose to disclose (“Personal Information”); and use information collected, in a way not visible to you, on an aggregate anonymous basis as you browse our site (“Other Information”).
Personal Information Collected
We receive and store much of the information you enter on our Website. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of many of our core features. We may collect Personal Information whenever you register with www.RFPattorney.com, update your profile, provide comments, sign up to receive email announcements, or use the services offered by our Website.
Personal information generally means information that specifically identifies an individual (including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and credit card or other financial information) or that is associated with an identifiable person (such as demographic information, company information, or information about a person’s activities when such information is linked to personally identifying information). If you are an attorney, you will be asked to provide the state(s) where you are licensed and your bar number(s). Personal information also includes the content of any inquiry, message, request or response you may submit on the Website for transmission to us or another user.
Other Information Collected
We automatically receive and store certain information from your browser whenever you use the Website, including, but not limited to, your IP address, relevant cookie information, and the pages you visit. None of this information identifies you personally; we collect it for aggregate reporting on site activity. Contrast Professional Services LLC uses this information to help diagnose problems, analyze trends, administer the Website and make the Website more useful. If you prefer not to enable cookies, you may change your browser settings to disable cookies; however, please note that rejecting cookies may result in certain parts of the Website not operating correctly or as efficiently. This policy in no way limits or restricts our collection of such aggregate information.
How Do We Use the Information Collected?
Contrast Professional Services LLC does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others without your permission. Contrast Professional Services LLC will use personal information only in ways that are compatible with the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently authorized by you. We use the information we collect in the following ways:
To manage and provide our services. We use the information we collect to provide our services and features to you, to measure and improve those services and features, to provide you with customer support, to respond to your requests, for processing your requests and transactions, for billing purposes, and for the specific purpose for which the information was provided. We may use the information we collect to verify your identity.
To communicate with you. We may communicate with you with service-related announcements, customer service notices, notifications of activity in your account, and other related announcements from time to time. You may opt out of all communications except essential updates by selecting the unsubscribe option in the email you receive from us or by contacting us at support@RFPattorney.com. If you opt out, it will likely affect your ability to participate in the services we provide to you. Please note: we will not ask you for your password or Personal Information if we contact you. Do not provide such information in response to an email request or after clicking on a link from an email.
To notify or invite a user. If you choose to use our email share feature to inform someone about our Website or use our invite attorney feature to invite an attorney to register and use our Website, we will ask you for such person’s e-mail address. We will automatically send a one-time e-mail message to this individual with information about the service and/or inviting him or her to visit our Website pursuant to your direction. This message may include your name and/or e-mail address and any optional message that you elect to send along with our e-mail. We do not retain the information that you provide, except that we may retain such individual’s e-mail address solely for purposes of matching your request with that person’s account, if he or she decides to register.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
Service related disclosures. This Website is designed to disclose certain information to other users at your direction in the course of providing our services. The user has full control over when and to whom Personal Information is disclosed. Our services are designed specifically to keep initial exchanges of information between users limited to only information that is necessary for an attorney to determine whether he or she can potentially represent that user. Your use of our services constitutes your consent to share Personal Information consistent with the purposes of the Website.
Personnel. Our personnel, authorized consultants and/or contractors may have access to Personal Information. However, our personnel do not review the content of your RFPs, RFP responses, comments, or messages. We only review RFP title/overview and contact requests for validation purposes. If we need to access this information, we will obtain your consent.
To help provide you with our services. We may provide information to service providers that help us bring you the services we offer. For example, we may use third parties to help host our Website, send emails and track responses, store or process information, and process payments. These service providers may have access to your Personal Information for use for a limited time, but when this occurs we implement reasonable contractual and technical protections to limit their use of that information to assisting us with providing these services.
Business transfers. In some cases, we may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, user information is typically one of the business assets that is transferred. Moreover, if Contrast Professional Services LLC, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, user information would be one of the assets that may be transferred.
Financial institutions. If you make payments through our Website, we share your transaction and financial information with financial institutions necessary to complete the transaction. By providing your financial information for these purposes, you authorize us to exchange your information with such financial institutions. We do not store your financial information without your consent and we require those financial institutions to agree to respect the privacy of your information.
Public areas. Please note that Personal Information that you post to public areas of the Website, including your Presence(s), may become publicly available. This includes all user content, such as text, content, posts, documents or media, video, audio, graphics, pictures, or photographs, comments, links, submissions, and price and rate information. Your posting to such public areas of the Website constitutes your consent to share such information publicly.
